Valley Green, an Advanced Turf Solutions Company, is a wholesale distributor that

provides turfgrass seed, fertilizer, and more for lawn care, golf courses, athletic

fields, and other green industry markets. We serve customers throughout New

England with seven locations.

About This Role

The Assistant Location Manager helps oversee and manage the day-to-day

operations of the Holyoke, MA location, focusing on sales and operational

functions. This individual will work hand in hand with the Location Manager to

ensure productivity and efficiency on all tasks. The ability to operate the location

and be a resource the manager can depend on when he/she is away is very

important. Customers come to Valley Green for quick service and sound

recommendations therefore this individual will be able to thrive in a fast-paced

environment with a focus on a positive customer experience.

Reports to: Location Manager

Key Job Responsibilities

• · Support Location Manager in the implementation of short and long-term goals
• · Utilize agronomic knowledge to make product recommendations
• · Assist in maintaining an organized and clean location at all times
• · Recommend products and close sales
• · Become proficient with point-of-sale system
• · Daily communication using e-mail and phone system
• · Ability to learn and retain knowledge on new products
• · Assist with inventory management
• · Ensure all orders go out timely and accurately
• · Load and unload customer orders and vendor deliveries
• · Availability to work on Saturdays during peak season

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• · Working knowledge of agronomy with focus on lawncare/landscape needs
• · Proven sales and customer service experience
• · Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• · Strong communication skills
• · Ability to lift at least 50 pounds throughout the day
• · Positive attitude

Desired Qualifications

• · Secondary degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Business Management or equivalent
• · 2 – 4 years turfgrass and/or landscape industry experience
• · 1 – 3 years warehouse environment experience; Forklift certification
• · Valid Driver’s License (required)

Salary: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
