Lead Sports Turf Groundskeeper

Location – Rockland, MA

R.A.D. Sports is looking to hire a full-time Lead Sports Turf Groundskeeper to lead the maintenance and construction of natural grass fields. This position will be responsible for mowing, seeding, sodding, fertilizing, aerating, topdressing, drainage installation, and infield/mound construction and maintenance. The position will lead a work crew to ensure timely completion of tasks, and also collaborate with project managers on field construction projects.

 

Skills:

• Understanding of baseball and softball infield and mound maintenance practices
• Ability to operate and maintain commercial mowers
• Understanding of cultural practices utilized in turfgrass management
• Understanding of natural grass drainage options and installation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to professionally interact with customers
• Strong decision making, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

 

Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in sports turf, landscaping, or golf course management preferred
• Turfgrass Science Degree/certificate preferred (or equivalent experience)
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
• OSHA 10 Card (or ability to obtain)
• Valid MA Hoisting Engineer License (or ability to obtain)
• Valid MA Pesticide Applicator License (or ability to obtain)
• Valid driver’s license, CDL preferred
